Windows 7 End of Extended Support coming in Jan 2020 – are you ready?
Security updates will no longer be released for Windows 7 from January 2020 when the Extended Support period ends. If you’re still running Windows 7, now is the time to upgrade to Windows 10.
Why do I need to upgrade?
If you’re running old, slow PCs with Windows 7 you could be losing money and exposing your business to unnecessary risk. Older computers cost more in maintenance and can slow down your workflow. Upgrading to new, fast machines means you benefit from the warranty and can get your work done faster.
Once security updates are no longer available for Windows 7, you are at risk from hackers etc who could gain control of your computers. Windows 10 PCs will have security updates available so you can keep your computers and network safe.
Once Windows 7 is no longer support, software developers may choose not to support that version of Windows anymore, meaning you might not be able to update to the latest versions of your business critical software.
How To Upgrade
Upgrading to Windows 10 could mean updating your existing computers or upgrading to the latest computer hardware. IDT can help you get up to date and avoid the issues that will come with keeping Windows 7 devices or computers past January 2020.
